Bridget Jones homework-miss eccleston

The poster shows the two men on either side of the protagonist who is looking rather promiscuious and up to something. The background is white as a focus to the main characters and their facial expressions bring suspicion to the audience, which would make them want to find out what is inside Bridgets Diary. As there is a female and two men stereotypically and subconsiously the audience has ideas that it must be a relationship that she has with the two men. The genre portrayed within the poster shows it is a romance genre. The target audience will be mostly women or couples.

This is a teaser poster as not much else is really seen. However there are no teaser trailer but full clip ones. The intension of this maybe so that the audiences knows more of the film and relation to the audience so that there is a connection with their target audience.

The premier was held in leicester square one of the key premier spots in the film industry.

For merchandise they have a soundtrack, posters. However there is nothing else as the type of film and audience would not be as successful through merchandise. They did not release a viral marketing compaign.

Digital film

How has the digital technology affected the film industry?

Through new digital technology the film industry has been able to evolutionise and exploit it. With new technology products such as the digital camera it is a cheap and efficient new way to produce films. It allows the producers to have more of a variety with the way they decide to film their film. It is also excellent for small independent production companies as it is cheap and accessible to anyone and everyone.

Films such as Avatar which is fully based on CGI and Ice Age to semi filmed CGI such as jurassic park and matrix.

Because of the new CGI world you no longer go to the cinema to view films, if you was to go to the IMAX you would be entering into the film. This is showing a whole new way of escapism. There is also the essence of home theatre where we can bring the cinema home and to life with home surround sound.

Another way in which NMT is an advantage is the internet. The internet is a global success in which majority of people withing the world has access to. The internet can be moulded and sculpted for your own personal uses. A way in which it is an advantage to the film industry is through promotion and adverstisement. The internet is a great source of viral marketing which can generate word of mouth. Through the internet games can be shown within it of a film which has been produced, the games help give the audience aknowledgement of the film whilst providing entertainment. The game will be spoken about thus generating word of mouth. An example of this would be on the Slumdog millionaire website there is a small game of who wants to be a millionaire.

The NMT is also good as it covers a wider range of audience globally, gives more information to the audience on the website, it is cheaper to use. Unfortunate because alot of advertising is now internet based those that do not posses the internet will not be able to find out about some films etc, which means a small loss of audience if their advertisement is internet based.

Slumdog Millionaire Marketing

Slumdog Millionaire was marketed in many different ways.

Slumdog millionaire was marketed in many ways, through big advertisement using posters, trailers, cast interviews and more. We see in the cast interview that these questions are so the audience can get to know the actors, so the audience feels comfortable with them and begins to brand them.
